The unique brews from Beers From Our Backyard celebrate the landmarks of the Northern Rivers, so it only made sense for Jasper Ale to join the range.

Inspired by the one street town called Federal, that is perched up in the hills, the land around this area of our backyard (once known as Jasper) is rich in volcanic soil that in some parts are the colour of the label and the beer.

The tropical fruit aromas of our Northern Rivers backyard come from the generous additions of Galaxy, Enigma and Mosaic hops. These are balanced with a smooth and velvety mouthfeel from the selection of roasted malts that give hints of caramel, toffee and hazelnut, finishing with a firm bitterness.

In search of a successor to our Killer Kween, we heard whispers of a powerful matriarch who rules over an agave-studded region famous for a certain spirit. Where is this queendom, you ask? Tequila, Mexico.

And so, compadres, all rise for Tequila Queen and her favourite tipple, the Oak Aged Margarita. Brewed with premium small-batch Arette Tequila (from the Tequila region), lacto, lime juice and Cointreau, hopped with Galaxy and aged on American oak, this margarita sour rushes the palate with citrus and salt and brings a Mexican twist to the Age of Queens.

To commemorate ‘10 Years of Beers’ for Stone & Wood we wanted to brew something special to mark the occasion. SWX is a decadent 10% imperial stout, which was barrel aged for 10 months.

SWX pours jet black with a chocolate head and features incredible depth of malt flavours and aromas of espresso, cocoa and dark fruits. The stout was matured in seasoned fortified wine barrels, which enhance the smooth, rich, flavours and aroma of oak while providing hints of cherries and chocolate. SWX is assertive and refined with a warming palate that is full-bodied but balanced by a firm bitterness.

Together, the brewers and style makers turned to crops that are making green waves in their industries: regenerated grain for beer and hemp for clothing.

Crop Circles pours hazy and golden orange, with mango aromas and flavours, thanks to generous additions of mango puree, Mosaic and Citra hops. This is all balanced by creamy and nutty characteristics thanks to hemp and macadamias.

This year's brew was created using choice Australian and German malts, with aromas and flavours of coffee, rich dark chocolate and hints of subtle smoked barley. Our limited winter release pours near black and finishes with a rich, smooth malt character and firm bitterness. Best shared on a cold night over warm conversation.
