№9 Kiss My Kvass

The idea came from my dual life. Having once lived in Russia for years and growing fond of the local kvas there often sold from trucks on the street and eating okroshka, I was inspired to make my own version of it... but more alcoholic... and with a small pinch of America just to be ironic. So I decided to blend a rather typical Russian kvas recipe using real rye bread with a rather typical American Pale Ale recipe which created a blend of sour, fresh, bready something... like an Imperial Kvas Ale.

I wanted something not quite like kvas but dark and slightly alcoholic as well - something you could drink at anytime of the day regardless of the weather.

This is definitely not a beer but it isn't kvas either. It actually can be improved if you like punching up the flavour profile as well as increasing the alcohol a bit by the addition of lemon and cumin extract (that we make using vodka). We are slowly informing locations about the recipe as well as delivering free cumin extract so you can experiment as well.
