Primo Sneeuw

Primo Sneeuw; in name, like the beer it represents, is a hybrid creation of the Belgian and Italian cultures that brewers Nick & Brandon melded together in order to show respect and celebrate the beer style and ingredients used. Primo Sneeuw means “First Snow” in English – Primo; taken from the Italian culture because of the Anise Star we used in the boil and vanilla beans in secondary in order to mimic the frost-topped cookie many Italian households enjoy during the holidays, and Sneeuw; the Dutch word for “snow” because of the primary language in the West Flanders province of Belgium where the beer style was popularized by brewery Brouwerjj Westvleteren and their Westvleteren 12; a beer only available at the abbey gates of the St. Sixtus in Belgiums West Flanders province. Primo Sneeuw holds colors of dark molasses with hints of copper, mahogany, and a foamy brown head, helping to remind the drinker of the warmth a beer like this offers on the most bitter-cold of days. The palate opens with flavors of raisin and malty depth and sweetness while coating the mouth with beautiful, soft bread and black licorice of the Anise Star, ultimately trailing off and ending with a freshly grown vanilla resulting in what can be described as an Anisette Cookie in a bottle.
