Bine & Bale, Hoppy Brown

We started with a dark, semi-sweet, brown ale built with a combination of Riverbend and Murphy & Rude malts. To this base, we added layers of hop flavor and aroma from Simcoe, Nugget, Brewer’s Gold, and Centennial. The result is an American Brown ale that has a pronounced aroma of fresh hop pellets and roasty coffee. The flavor carries background notes of baker’s cocoa and nutty pumpernickel bread, but it is dominated by dark fruit notes of black currant and earthy pine. A lingering bitter finish reduces the beer’s medium body and leaves a perception of dryness. Show Less
