Malt bill consisting of Pilsner, Vienna, and White Wheat. Hopped with Citra, Eclipse, and Nelson Sauvin Cryo. Great complexity. Crackery malts. Lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, pine, mild white grape, and some other muddled tropical fruit sweetness.

From Bamberg’s oldest brewhouse, this offering has a nice beechwood smokiness, supported by notes of caramel, toasted bread, and spicy/faintly floral Nobel hops. Not as strongly smoked as Schlenkerla but well balanced and moreish nonetheless.

My first Black Cold IPA. I like the concept but prefer the richer malts and west coast hop smack of the original Cascadian/Black IPAs. Buds just starting to emerge in Alberta. Having a riverside beer and watching some Common Mergansers dive for minnows.

Canadian_Craft Beer_Enthusiast is drinking a Venom by Zero Issue Brewing at Untappd at Home
Mild cocoa, burnt caramel, and roast. Dark fruit, pine, and peppery rye. After a long work stint I was finally able to rent Dune 2. Wonderful cinematography and storytelling by Denis Villeneuve.
Mild corn sweetness. Overall good balance between malts and hops allow the vanilla and coffee to shine. Coffee comes across as a lighter roast, such as a City roast. I’ll have to stop by for a flight and some deeper analysis next time I’m in Canmore. 😉
