BlackMamba is a full bodied oatmeal stout that has tastes of toffee, chocolate, coffee, and smoothness from the addition of flaked oatmeal. We use generous amounts of crystal, black patent, roasted barley and chocolate malt which gives the stout a dark color and a complex taste profile. This oatmeal stout has an explosion of flavor created by the dark roasted grains, pale ale 2-row barley, Fuggle, Cascade and Columbus hops. The final step for BlackMamba is aging in the finest American bourbon barrels for several weeks.

With cold air in the bay area the open cooling unfermented beer would have a dense cloud of fog hovering over it as it cooled on the brewery roof. People thought the beer was steaming! Thus the term steam beer! This beer uses a lager yeast brewed at ale temperatures thus another possible root to the steam beer name.
