The lead beers of the blend are Bravo and Stickee Monkee, bringing rich molasses drenched oak flavors and cinnamon glazed almond aromas lifted by high alcohol. In the middle, our two favorite stouts, Parabola and Velvet Merkin, work in concert to provide a dusty cocoa mocha aroma and bitter dark chocolate flavors, reminiscent of Bourbon-soaked chocolate chip cookie dough. Double DBA brings its signature vanilla-infused crème brulée flavor and Helldorado brings balance with honey notes and light leather nuances. A dash of Wookey Jack offers fresh hop notes creating even more complexity. XVII is full of soft chocolate and warm spice perfectly balanced by toasted coconut, bourbon barrel notes and smooth creamy malt mellowness. XVII is best enjoyed in a half-filled brandy snifter or red wine glass. Allow it to warm to 55F to fully enjoy the complex aromas and flavors. It is always a beast of a beer, with intense flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla and roast coffee-- yet each annual release also bears its own subtle imprint. We took the extra step of aging the beer entirely in 12-year-old bourbon barrels for this latest edition. These older-stock barrels accentuated Parabola’s signature richness with vintage-specific notes of stone fruit, fudge, and tobacco. Read Less

Our signature Parabola imperial stout achieves new heights in this limited small-batch release. The story of this beer began when we aged it in an equal selection of rare older-stock barrels from premium spirits producers-- specifically, 14 year Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrels and 18 year Sazerac rye whiskey barrels. These barrels complemented Parabola's classic dark chocolate, cherry and vanilla flavors by imparting hints of stone fruits, fudge, leather and peppery spice. Additionally, we aged the beer for a full two years prior to blending and bottling, cultivating an ultra-smooth mouthfeel for this prodigiously flavorful beer. Read Less
