India Pale Ale has a long and interesting story. During British colonization of India, beer was a mainstay for the British living at the colony. However, the long ocean journey was devastating to the beer. The clever Brits, not to be beaten by organic breakdown and bacteria, found that extra hop addition preserved the intended good taste and freshness. Today's IPAs can have extreme hop value but they tend to be in the 50-70 IBU area with 5.5 and above for ABV. Peaks N Pines IPA is a milder IPA with a 61 IBU, and a 6.6 ABV. Our IPA has a 4 grain malt bill, including Munich, Crystal, aromatic and pale; Galena Chinook and Cluster hops round out the hop bill. Read Less
