Doug Koval is drinking a Fiddlehead Imperial IPA by Fiddlehead Brewing Company at Untappd at Home
Piney w/hints of grapefruit. Hazy in appearance. Not very hoppy (but, doesn’t claim to be a NEIPA). Kinda like Fiddlehead’s version of Alchemist’s Heady Topper. Very Heady (pun intended) @9.0% ABV. Very good!

My second Rauchbier (first was TH Behind the Times). Malty and roasty, as you’d expect for this German-style, but this one has a smoky taste vs. the first - really good.

Expanding my genres; first Rauchbier and it’s really good. Smoked malts give it a dark color and a well-rounded sweet (toffee, caramel) and roasted taste. For a DIPA/IPA diehard, this is a great alternative, with a low 5.2% ABV no less.

Okay, I gave this a high rating, but it’s all relative; yes, a good DIPA is more hoppy, dank, etc. - but, for a 6.0% ABV, this is IPA is very good! Juicy, fruity, crisp with a good amount of hops for a lighter IPA.

Trying a new Tree House DIPA - first in a while. I like the hazy & dankness (is that a word?), but it has notes of white wine & fruity orange peel that are good, not great. Don’t get me wrong, better than most 4.25 ratings I’ve given, but not quite a 4.50
