Festivus Ale

Holiday ales in American craft brewing generally fall into two camps: spiced malty strong ales and celebrations of the hop. Festivus falls squarely in the hoppy camp, with generous additions of Chinook, Centennial and Cascade hops complementing the English & German malts at its backbone. And it would surely hold its own against other Holiday ales in feats of strength, coming in at approximately 7.0% ABV. The focus lies on the floral, citrusy, slightly fruity nobility of Centennial and Cascade hops. Two dry-hop additions contribute to this hop-centric focus. Subtle roasty, chocolate, biscuit-like, and caramel notes from the malts interplay with the resiny qualities of the hops...characters that are further emphasized by this beers dry finish.
