I’m not convinced the barrel improves the OG, nice for a difference with a more vinous finish.

Love the standard Phoenix. The barrel does work well with this but it also offsets some of the chewy malt character. A little conflicted.

I didn’t realise The Phoenix was inspired by the loss if HH’s original brewery in the 2009 bushfires. A little sweet caramel/toffee, nice texture,dry bitterness.
