Mundilfare

A Doppelbock is a strong bottom fermented lager which has its origins in the north German town of Einbeck. Doppelbock is mostly connected with the Bavarian monks who used it as “liquid bread” in fasting times when solid food was not allowed. Low in hop bitterness with plenty of malt character, body and aroma. Brewed with traditional Munich malt and bock yeast that is gathered in southern Germany. A truly unique beer which should be enjoyed in an original Munkebo glass at 10-12°C, (50-54°F). You can almost feel the atmosphere of old monasteries, hear the bells ringing and birds singing.

A jötnar called Mundilfare had two beautiful children. The son, he named Moon and the daughter he name Sun. The gods saw this and thought it was boastfulness and expressions of pride, why they as penalty put the two children to steer the vehicle with the moon and the sun. The horses pulling the sun wagon called Årvågen and Alstærk. They are chased by the wolf Skoll, which will one day swallow the sun.
