Patrick Smart is drinking a Velvet Stout by Asda
The nose starts dark and almost woody in character, there is a thin layer of hickory smoke that teams up with coffee aromas and roasted malts. The taste is a smooth rich smokey coffee that’s stays slightly sweet but lends itself to an earthy bitterness.

Patrick Smart is drinking a Campfire by Two Tribes
The nose is bright and soft with a fruit bowl of tangerine, peach, apricots and grapefruit but with a pinch of sea salt (strange) The taste is great, again soft with a touch of spice presenting it self first before moving towards a light stone fruit end.

Patrick Smart is drinking a Hobgoblin Stout by Wychwood Brewery
The nose is a mixture of citrus infused dark chocolate, copper notes, earthy coffee with vanilla extract. The taste is roasted malts, weak black coffee that is followed by a carbonation that reveals citrus, smoky tones and a quick dark bitterness.

Patrick Smart is drinking a 5 | Cold IPA - MOSAIC, Simcoe & Talus by Brew By Numbers
The nose is clean, mango, clean cut citrus, sweet and malty with a grassy edge. The taste has a very extreme and constant sour note that comes in the form of blueberries, citrus and a small amount of zingy pine sharpness that soon turns bitter.

Simon Tomlinson: WTF is an IPA Cold? The beer styles on UT are madness
Patrick Smart: Simon T. Good evening Simon 🫡. So the story goes is that cold IPA is brewed with lager yeast at colder temperatures giving it a lighter taste and body.
Simon Tomlinson: Patrick S. - IPL then?
Patrick Smart: Simon T.IPS, as it tastes sour
Simon Tomlinson: Patrick S. - We'll leave it at that An IPS! 😁
Patrick Smart: Simon T.🤝
Nose wise I have big hit of lager malt and citrus which is is slightly confusing. Taste is very strong malt elements with lemon and lime overtones that contribute to the overall experience, sideline notes are pine and grassy spice.
