Simon Aston: Cream caramel aroma dominates, followed by a rich butterscotch taste and bold bitter finish. This ale has complexity, body and style.

Simon Aston is drinking a First Call / First Gold by Badger Beers (Hall & Woodhouse)
This Brewery ( Badger, Hall and Woodhouse) hasn't improved its beer since 1984. Awful thin watery dross.

Fabulous, dark coffe and liquorice nose, strong coffee on the palate, dry smooth finish. Well kept and served at this pub.

Liquorice and syrupy coffee on the nose, smooth deep burnt taste, dry finish.
I like the style. Mild IPA cross over with contrasting aroma and flavour.
