Paul Johnson is drinking a Milkshake IPA by Rebel Toad Brewing Co. at Rebel Toad
Don't let the Milkshake IPA moniker fool you. Sure, lactose fluff is present/accounted for, but it's the sideshow. Main stage is dominated by concentrated pineapple & blueberry sweet/tartness. Understated booziness, enough to remind you of the stakes.

Paul Johnson is drinking a Cinnamon Dolce Nitro Stout by Firestone Walker Brewing Company at Executive Surf Club
Kicks sweet upfront, but no follow-through (and that's a good thing), with a quick fade to moderate roasty/stouty goodness. Speckled with cinnamon spice and a hint of frosting glaze. Smooth and decidedly un-saccharine, solidly sessionable brew.

Funky and unique. I'm not sure I love it, but I'm enjoying the adventure. Sweet peach peppered with floral, earthy yuzu citrus. A little too narrow-band for me, all mids, no treble or bass.

A bit of a miss for me: fairly middle of the road malty (not rich, roasty or partocularly savory), brief hints of the promised hoppiness. Maybe a bad bottle? Dunno, but I generally expect much better from the folks at pFriem.

When I heard Adroit was revisting a brew named for a Bowie collab, I thought: Sweet, sign me up for a 4-pack of Little Drummer Boy! (They went a different direction). Hazy cranked to 11 (well, 10%), aggressively tropical, subtle Nelson-ian fingerprints.
