My first stop at Chicago's recently opened Guinness Brewery, and I am trying a beer they brewed special for Chicago. I am pleasantly surprised by it. It has a rich, strong coffee flavor, both sweet and slightly bitter, complemented by vanilla & chocolate.

Sitting in the dark downstairs bar The Izakaya at Momotaro getting ready to try my 23rd Burger from TimeOut's list of Best Burgers in Chicago. Of course the beer selection is limited. While this is nothing special, it has a nice sweetness & banana flavor.

As my plans this afternoon didn't pan out, I decided instead to stop by OIB. This has been my favorite Krampus variant from over the years. While it is a little sweet, the flavors are outstanding, including toasted coconut, almond, chocolate & Bourbon.

This is my third time having this, and I really enjoy it. There are great flavors of cocoa, raisins, almonds, vanilla, Bourbon, and cinnamon, which grow more distinctive as it warms. It is subtle and nuanced. Exceptional.
