Bought this as I don’t get Obsidian variants. Didn’t do research or look as this was bottled in 2022. Store cellared it for me I guess 🤷🏻♂️ The peanut butter has dropped almost out-faint, barrel is smoothed as well. Obsidian base is the backbone- nice

Another banger of darkness from Surly! The ginger provides some heat and peppery flavor to get to the chocolate covered orange that is soaked in bourbon. So many levels to this one, wonderful

Eric Gronli: It was a good one- Surly kept their reputation in tact with this Darkness! Some of the variants get mixed reviews which is understandable
Bready malt, sweet. Little more chocolate vs caramel/toffee. It’s hard not to enjoy a doppelbock though!
