Jan Even is drinking a Page 24 – Bière de Noël by Page 24 / Brasserie Saint-Germain at Rosendal Teater
Shared with E during brewday. Dark caramel, red/dark berries, licorice, unspecified malty sweetness, some dust and earth, lingering bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

Burnt malts, candy sugar, toffee, roasted hazelnuts, dried fruits, some spice, hint of chocolate, bubble gum. A standard staple, but a good one. Great with food, will pair with Hungarian goulash today, still simmering on the stove. Oh yeah.

Surprise find in the back of the fridge. One of the better supermarket Christmas beers in Norway, very interesting berry note in this, rounded malty sweetness, candy sugar, faint bitterness to balance. Quite enjoyable on this cold spring day.

Grainy sweetness on arrival, light malts, belgian yeast, some citrus, but soon a subtle yet substantial hop bitterness announces itself, with a peppery spiciness accompanying it. Light body. A touch boozy. Good, but perhaps not great. Still enjoying this.

Trying this because I have been reading up on export beers lately. Light grains, bread, sugary sweetness, slightly metallic, some grass, decent hoppy bitterness in the finish. Not on par with the German greats, but certainly not bad either.
