Smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Roasty, bittersweet cocoa. Not unlike a RIS. Even though it has those bitter notes, it doesn't seem perfectly balanced.

Spicy hoppiness and dry roastiness. Far from my favorite style, but it's great to try a well-executed black IPA every now and then.
