Down the Hatch by Old Ox Brewery

Makin’ chili for the Super Bowl (Go Chiefs!) and a wise man one said: “If you’re cooking’ with beer, drink the beer your cookin’ with!” Dunno who that wise man was, but his advice is good! 😉👍🏻🍺🍻

Double Negative by Grimm Artisanal Ales

Jeffrey Garrison is drinking a Double Negative by Grimm Artisanal Ales at Stone House At Harper Park

Wow, this is assertive. Malty & bitter up front, but like chicory or dark chocolate bitter, not piney/hoppy bitter. More chocolate comes next, w/some caramel & coffee, like a caramel macchiato. It’s not my favorite, but it’s nice.

Here To Destroy by DSSOLVR

Another delicious Pilsner, this one being an American-style, which ups the hops notes, but still makes it very balanced & enjoyable. Biscuity, bready, w/notesnof buttered sourdough, floral & bright.

Wow, this is a terrific Czech-style Pilsner! Malty, biscuity, floral, a little bit of honey-like sweetness, crisp & refreshing. Why drink a “lite” beer when you can this & a lot of it!

Porter by Forest & Main Brewing Company

A delicious English-Style Porter! Malty, roasty, notes of chocolate, wildflower honey, a little bit no of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Seriously a brilliant example of the style.

I like the is ESB even more than the last one, as the bitterness is better restrained & balanced.

This is a really nice English Bitter. Malty, floral and nutty, like Sam Smith’s Nut Brown Ale nutty. Really delicious. And I love the name and label art!
