Request a DemoEric Heppner is drinking The Hessian Horseman by Burn 'Em Brewing at Town of Oldenburg
Thanks to Jordan Bronk for giving me one of his four-pack in front of The Village Store. I'm not a Pilsner fan, but this is better than its 3.68 global rating, in my opinion.

This was pretty good, but I was hoping for better. The flavors were good, but it poured much thinner than I like stouts.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Murmuration #3 by Seventh Son Brewing Company at Town of Oldenburg
I found this in the back of my refrigerator. The original of this was spectacular. However, every year, Seventh Son changed the recipe. I respect that approach, but, in my opinion, they haven't matched their first batch.
Eric Heppner is drinking an Extra Extra Juicy Bits by WeldWerks Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
I don't usually check in beers I've already had, but when it's something as good as this, I make an exception. Juicy Bits is excellent, but this is even better. Every time Tavour offers this, I order a couple.

Earned the Super Style: IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy (Level 15) badge!Eric Heppner is drinking a Double Universe by Fair State Brewing Cooperative at Town of Oldenburg
This is solid, but it has a bit of an aftertaste. My guess is it's from the El Dorado hops. It's not a bad thing, just noticeable.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Space Broccoli by Other Half Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
I've had quite a few from Other Half's Broccoli series. They're all good, including this one.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Normalize the Signal by Hop Butcher For The World at Town of Oldenburg
Maybe I shouldn't have had this after Elea from Mortalis, which is fantastic. This is good, but it's a little sweet for my taste. Also, the Sabro hops flavor has never been my favorite. I still won't have any trouble drinking the second one.

Earned the Super Style: IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy (Level 14) badge!Eric Heppner is drinking an Elea by Mortalis Brewing Company at Town of Oldenburg
This is my first beer from this highly-rated brewery. I hope it's not my last. This is a NEIPA that stacks up against beers I've had from the likes of Tree House, The Alchemist, and Trillium.

Earned the Tavour (Level 73) badge!Eric Heppner is drinking a Braincake by Parish Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
The Ghost series of beers from Parish is so fantastic that I thought trying another offering from them would be a good idea. I was correct. This is a wheated double IPA, which is ever-so-slightly noticeable. Unlike most wheat beers, I really like this.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Gouda by Other Half Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
Ho-hum... This is just another excellent double IPA from Other Half. Like so many from them, it has a soft mouthfeel, with mild, hoppy bitterness, and subtle citrus flavor.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Super Ripe by Great Notion Brewing at Town of Oldenburg
I think "dank" is a descriptive word for this beer. I mean that in a good way. It is pleasantly bitter. It's also 9.1% ABV. I wouldn't call it boozy, though.

Earned the Tavour (Level 72) badge!Eric Heppner is drinking a MC ^ GHOST by Parish Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
I received a Tavour delivery today. This is my first from the batch. This entire Ghost series from Parish is such quality. This collaboration with Equilibrium is dry with subtle citrus.

Earned the Better Together (Level 25) badge!Eric Heppner is drinking a Luscious by The Alchemist at Town of Oldenburg
I found this in the back of my refrigerator. British stouts aren't usually my favorite style. This is over a year old. It is better than the other times I've had it.
Eric Heppner is drinking The Dragon (2024- ) by Sapwood Cellars Brewery at Town of Oldenburg
This has a solid rye flavor, which I like.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Mornin' Latte Imperial Coffee Milk Stout by Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
The bottom of the can says packaged on 12/16/19. Best by 06/13/20. I'm sure it's a remnant of COVID. For being 3½ years beyond the "best by" date, it's solid. It poured with an active head, and the coffee flavor is still excellent.
Eric Heppner is drinking a Cream of Broccoli by Other Half Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
I'm a fan of the entire Broccoli series from Other Half. This is another good one. The bit of lactose in this to give it its "Cream" name is subtle.

Eric Heppner is drinking The Triple Agent by Kettlehead Brewing at Town of Oldenburg
This is good. I like beers that are something of a NEIPA and West Coast IPA hybrid. This fits that description. It's 9.5% ABV, but not boozy. Kettlehead is a solid brewery.

Eric Heppner is drinking a Stacks On Stacks by Other Half Brewing Co. at Town of Oldenburg
With Other Half now distributing in Ohio, I'm hoping that means Indiana will soon follow. They make such excellent double IPAs. This definitely falls into that category.

I don't think I've ever had a rye double IPA. This has a rather strong rye flavor. I'm fine with that. This is unique, in a good way.

A Kölsch is a bit light for my taste. However, the main reason I wanted to check in this beer was because of how it opens. The entire top comes off when the tab is pulled, allowing drinking from the can while getting all the aroma. It's clever.
