Yes a vintage 2012 beer. Risked buying this bottle a couple weeks ago. Likely my first Calvados Cask. Poring, it has a nice boozy aroma. Rather smooth taste, definitely boozy at 11.5%, sweet, no carbonation, and hints of apple and sweetness. Cost ~ $10.

Somehow, some bottles of this great stuff found their way to an obscure New Jersey liquor store, and I bought every one. Great, great, great!

Murky brown pour, no head. Tons of barrel, dark fruit, caramel and toffee. Oh, wow. There's some smoke in this beer. So nutty, caramel apple, toffee, dark fruit. Damn, I can't pin it all down. So much here. Smooth body. Some booze feel. Damn, amazing

What good fortune to come across a cache of this in a beer store here in New Jersey. Calvados aspect is evident. This is powerful and delicious. Superb accompanying blue cheese. Highly recommended, if you can find it.

Burnt sugar, toffee, raisin, and a hint of peat. The barrel notes increase as it comes to room temperature. Notes of oak, apple and pear from the Calvados barrel aging.

My vintage beer book says that 13 years is the peak for harvest ale, but 11 years seems to be pretty damn good. This bad boy is absolutely delicious with notes of caramel toffee, dark fruit and of course the Calvados barrel
